#### Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Identify and describe at least three different types of government.
2. Understand the basic functions and characteristics of each type of government.
3. Recognize the importance of government in organizing society.

- Printed visuals or flashcards showing different types of government
- Worksheets with activities related to types of government
- A short video clip explaining different types of governments (optional)

#### Lesson Structure:
1. **Introduction (10 minutes)**
- Greeting and Settling Down (2 minutes)
- Welcome the students and ensure they are settled.
- Warm-Up Activity (3 minutes)
- Ask students simple questions about what they know about government.
- Example: “Who knows what a government is?” or “Can anyone tell me who makes the rules in our country?”
- Learning Objective Introduction (5 minutes)
- Write the topic on the whiteboard: “Types of Government”.
- Explain the objective clearly to the students: "Today, we are going to learn about different types of government and how they help organize our society."
2. **Direct Instruction (15 minutes)**
- Explanation and Discussion (15 minutes)
- Present the three main types of government: Democracy, Monarchy, and Dictatorship.
- Use visuals/flashcards to illustrate each type of government.
- Describe each type of government:
- **Democracy:** A system where the people vote and elect their leaders. Use examples like the United States or India.
- **Monarchy:** A system where a king or queen rules. Examples include the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
- **Dictatorship:** A system where one person or a small group has complete control. Examples could include historical references like North Korea.
3. **Guided Practice (15 minutes)**

- Divide students into small groups and hand out worksheets.
- Worksheets contain questions related to the types of government discussed. Example questions:
- “Who decides the rules in a democracy?”
- “What is a monarchy, and who is in charge?”
